Wacker Chemie Profit Rises on Demand for Solar Panel Material

(Bloomberg) -- Wacker Chemie AG, a German maker of polysilicon, said fourth-quarter earnings rose 14 percent on “vigorous” customer demand and better pricing for the material used in solar panels.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose to 180 million euros ($203 million), the Munich-based company said today in a statement. Sales gained 9.2 percent to 1.19 billion euros.
