Rambus Inks Licensing Deal; Toshiba to Use Its Interface Cells on Upcoming Applications
LOS ALTOS, Calif. (AP) -- Chip maker Rambus Inc. on Wednesday said Toshiba Corp. plans to use its interface cells in upcoming consumer, computing and communications applications.
Financial terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.
The products licensed in the deal include the Rambus XDR memory controller interface cell, dubbed XIO, and the Rambus PCI Express Gen 1 PHY cell
Shares of Rambus rose $1.35, or 7.8 percent, to $18.63 in pre-market trading on INet, having closed Tuesday at $17.28 on the Nasdaq. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $10.25 to $46.99.
