CombiMatrix (CBMX) stock has climbed from $3 in mid-December to $5.53 on Jan 15th. In Dec, the U.S. Army inked a pact with co to develop microchips for detecting hazardous biotech agents. CBMX's' partner, Nanomaterials Discovery, has just agreed to use CBMX's biochips to develop fuel cells, rechargeable lithium batteries, and phosphors for flat-panel displays. Jonathan Aschoff of Brean Murray says Nanomaterials Discovery has a patent on using its own technology and CBMX's biochips to discover new nanomaterials. Aschoff currently rates CBMX a strong buy and has a 12-month target of $8. Mr. Ashcroft expects the co to turn profitable this year, with earnings of $0.45.
