Swedish furniture retailer IKEA is to spend €600m on new renewable energy projects and €400m on climate change adaptation.

The company’s chief executive Peter Agnefjall told Reuters that the money will be invested in wind and solar power facilities, adding to €1.5bn spent since 2009.

IKEA has already committed to own and operate 314 wind turbines and has 700,000 solar panels on its roofs.
