The junior exploration company reported that geochemical and underground channel sampling results from the Los Cochis zone at Picachos have revealed the potential for a near-surface silver-lead-zinc deposit more than 3,000 meters long and 500 to 1,000 meters wide. Northwestern anticipates future drilling will test for an open-pittable silver-rich deposit and for potential gold-bearing bonanza shoots. The results are part of Northwestern’s ongoing 2005 exploration program at Picachos, which has defined four epithermal precious metal districts, including Los Cochis. Analysis of the data for the El Toro, Guadalupe and El Pino zones is expected in the coming weeks.

While the company currently owns a 50% stake in the Picachos property portfolio, it has the right to acquire a 100% interest under a recent agreement with RNC Gold Inc (TSX: RNC).

Furthermore, it should also be noted that the company is awaiting the decision by the Government of Niger for approval of two uranium concessions. This too could prove beneficial to shareholders as Niger is the world’s fourth largest uranium producer and Northwestern’s property is located within the same geographical area as two mines which yield nearly 10% of global uranium production combined. While there is no guarantee of this pending approval, we continue to be optimistic about the company and its attempts to expand its property holdings within the quickly growing uranium industry.

On the technical analysis side of things, at this time we do not feel the stock is either overbought or oversold and we continue to believe the current price levels may present an attractive entry opportunity for the long-term investor.

We continue to find the company an attractive long-term mining play for high-risk tolerant investors.
