YouTube hat mehr als 100.000 Videos entfernen lassen ....

Der US-Medienriese Viacom, zu dem unter anderem die Sender MTV, Nickelodeon und Comedy Central gehören, will, dass die populäre Website YouTube mehr als 100.000 Videoclips entfernt. Es handelt sich dabei um Mitschnitte von Sendungen der Viacom-Sender. Zuvor waren monatelange Gespräche zwischen dem von Google gekauften YouTube und Viacom über eine Vergütung ergebnislos geblieben. Nach Viacom-Angaben wurden die Clips insgesamt 1,2 Milliarden Mal angesehen. "Wir konnten es nicht so weitergehen lassen", sagte ein Sprecher dem Wall Street Journal .

Die Videos bei YouTube werde von den Nutzern ins Internet gestellt. Darunter sind nicht nur eigene Aufnahmen, sondern auch zahlreiche Mitschnitte von TV-Sendungen. Dagegen versuchen die Sender vorzugehen. Nach geltendem Recht können Medienunternehmen verlangen, dass von ihnen im Internet entdecktes urheberrechtlich geschütztes Material entfernt wird.
