Crocs Inc. 2nd Quarter EPS Jumps; Company Raises Fiscal Year Guidance

Crocs Inc.'s second-quarter net income sky-rocketed to $48.5 million, or 58 cents a share, from $15.7 million, or 19 cents a share, a year earlier. The Niwot, Colo., footwear company said revenue jumped to $224.3 million from $85.6 million a year ago. The company's strong quarter was due to "robust demand for our expanded footwear collection" in the U.S., Canada and Europe. On average, analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 44 cents a share and revenue of $192.7 million. Crocs expects third-quarter revenue of $240 million to $250 million and earnings of 58 cents to 62 cents a share. The company also raised its 2007 revenue guidance to a range of $810 million to $820 million and earnings guidance to a range of $1.89 to $1.93 a share..

Crocs to Acquire Bite Footwear


Crocs Will Buy Bite Footwear for $1.75 Million, Plus a Potential $1.75 Million More


NIWOT, Colo. (AP) -- Crocs Inc., which makes trendy, colorful plastic shoes, said Monday it agreed to acquire Bite Footwear for $1.75 million, plus up to $1.75 million more if Bite makes some earnings targets over the next three years.
Bite makes performance shoe and sports sandals, including a sports sandal with a removable insole.

Crocs plans to use its proprietary material, Croslite, in Bite's products. Crocs also said Bite's OrthoSport product line will add to its RX medical line.

Heute kann Crocs wieder kräftig zulegen und die Verluste der letzten Tage hanezu kompensieren.

Plastic footwear maker Crocs (CROX ) was among the Nasdaq's winners Monday, gaining 9.6% after being touted by a small-cap fund manager in a story that ran Sunday on MarketWatch. "We think there are new product initiatives there that can help sustain the growth," Citizens Small Cap Core Growth fund manager Michael Gallipo said in the interview. Shares gained $4.91 to $56.13.

Super bequem und obendrein noch gesund, sagen die einen. Eine optische Schande, sagen die anderen. Wie auch immer: Crocs, die klobigen Gummitreter aus Amerika mit Luftlöchern und Krokodil-Logo, gehen derzeit weg wie die warmen Semmeln. Die Nachfrage ist so groß, dass Crocs mit den Lieferungen schon lange nicht mehr nachkommt. "Wir warten derzeit acht bis zehn Wochen auf Nachschub", berichtet Christian Jerabek, Einkäufer bei Stiefelkönig. Auch Intersport hat sich bereits auf eine monatelange Wartezeit eingestellt.


Ernst Widmann, Vertriebschef von Crocs in Österreich, spricht von "europaweiten Lieferengpässen" wegen des Schuh-Hypes. In Österreich sei die Nachfrage vier Mal so groß wie geplant. Und das ohne großen Marketing-Aufwand: "Am Anfang wurden wir belächelt. Jetzt ist die Nachfrage riesengroß"



Um die Lieferengpässe zu minimieren hat Crocs erst kürzlich sieben Boeing 747 Großflugzeuge für den Schuh-Transport von China nach Europa gechartert , in den USA werden angeblich bis zu zwei Millionen Paar im Monat verkauft.


Für Schuh-Nachschub ist jedenfalls auch gesorgt. Im Herbst bringt Crocs eine Winterkollektion mit Pelz sowie Diabetiker-Crocs auf den Markt ....

Crocs to launch men's and kids' clothing lines

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shoe company Crocs Inc. (NasdaqGS:CROX) said on Monday it will launch a line of clothing for men and children using a form of the resin material it uses in its brightly colored clogs.
The clothing line, which will hit stores in October, is an attempt at diversification for the company as it tries to evolve from a niche shoe maker to a lifestyle brand.

The clothing will use the company's proprietary material and will be resistant to harsh chemicals and heat, the company said, adding that it plans to launch another line of clothing for spring 2008.

Jim Cramer pushte gestern Crocs auf "CNBC's Stop Trading" wieder mal hoch , was der Aktie in einem negativen Marktumfeld zu einem Plus von knapp 4% verhalf ......

Ist echt ein spannender Wert ... wenngleich ich das Produkt in live immer noch nicht gesehen habe...

Crocs heute auch von den verlusten an den Börsen kräftig betroffen.

ein lupenreiner "Crocs-Crash" und ein kleines Minus von 36% heute :D

Gewinn mehr als verdoppelt , aber der Ausblick war schuld an den heutigen Einbruch , war aber eigentlich zu erwarten das die Aktie bei "Bad News" komplett einbricht , die sind seit Anfang Mai nur nach oben gegangen , wobei der Ausblick eigentlich gar nicht so schlimm war , aber es hat gereicht für einen richtigen sell-off :rolleyes:


Late Wednesday, the Niwot, Colo.-based company, said profits more than doubled to $56.5 million, or 66 cents a share, from $21.5 million, or 25 cents a share, for the year ago period. That was a few cents above the Street's call of 63 cents a share. Meanwhile, sales rose 130.3% to $256.3 million, from $111.3 million, which was just below analysts' estimate of $258.4 million. By many measures, the third quarter was a solid one, as gross margins improved and global demand remained robust.

Still, investors were deeply disappointed in the company's lower than expected outlook.

Crocs (nasdaq: CROX - news - people ) lifted its guidance for 2007 to $1.94 to $1.98 a share, on sales of $820 million to $830 million. That was roughly a nickel above the company's previous guidance of $1.89 to $1.93 a share, on sales of $810 million to $820 million. It was a small jump, but Wall Street was looking for a leap. The profit outlook matched analysts' estimate of $1.97 a share, but analysts hoped for sales of $835.7 million--$5.7 million above the new upper bound.
