General Mills reaffirms FY03 forecast of $2.60 (GIS) 41.26 -0.12: -- Update --

Der Halbleitergigant Intel gab soeben in seinem Mid-Quarter-Update bekannt, dass man im Q3 mit einem Umsatz von 6,3-6,7 Milliarden $ rechne, was unterhalb der Mitte der letzten Prognosenspanne liegt. Insbesondere das Geschäft mit Mikroprozessoren verlaufe leicht schwächer, als es in der jetzigen Saison üblich wäre. Die anderen Prognosen lasse man unverändert, unter anderem die Bruttoumsatzmarge, welche man auf 51% schätze.

Im Juli hatte man noch mit einer Spanne von 6,3-6,9 Milliarden $ gerechnet, Analysten gehen von 6,6 Milliarden $ im Schnitt aus. Den Gewinn schätzen die Experten auf durchschnittlich 13 Cents/Aktie. /Börse GO

Asyst affirms Q2 outlook (ASYT) 8.19 -0.43: Company "affirms its prior guidance for its second fiscal quarter" which calls for net sales from continuing operations of approximately $70 million -- current consensus estimate is for revs of $69.6 mln.

Brinker updates guidance (EAT) 26.19 -0.71: Company anticipates fiscal year 2003 first quarter earnings to be in the $0.44 to $0.45 per share range, based on same store sales of flat to 2%, "both of which are consistent with previous guidance" -- current Multex consensus estimate is for earnings of $0.45 per share.

Intel (INTC) 15.11 -1.00: -- Update -- On its call, company pretty much sticks to press release and is hesitant to get into too much detail as it's only a mid-quarter update. Asia and Japan is slightly softer than expected. US and Europe are about as expected... As for pricing, company declines to get specific but the mix of Pentium4 to Celeron is as expected... stock at 15.67.

CDW Computer raises Q3 guidance (CDWC) 41.30 -1.77: Company issues upside preannouncement for Q3 (Sep), expecting EPS of $0.58-$0.61 vs Multex consensus of $0.52; sees revenues of $1.125-$1.145 bln (Multex consensus $1.107 bln); says sales of Microsoft products were particularly strong in July due to changes in their licensing programs.

SONICblue to reduce staff by 25% (SBLU) 0.32 unch: Company to streamline business structure, which will include consolidating certain business units and a workforce reduction of approximately 25%.
