Sun Microsystems: Planzahlenbestätigung
Der Servergigant Sun Microsystems erklärte am Dienstag, dass man für das Q2 des Jahres 2003 einen Umsatz von 2,9 Milliarden $ erwarte, wie Analysten dies auch erwarten. Der CFO Stece McGowan gab an, dass man einen geringen Zuwachs bei den operativen Ausgaben erleben werde. Das Unternehmen erwarte eine Umsatzrendite von knapp unterhalb von 41%, wie man sie im Q1 gesehen hatte. Analysten gehen von einem Verlust von einem Cent/Aktie für das Q2 von Sun Micro aus.

Der amerikanische Chiphersteller Intel Corp. berichtete am Donnerstag nach Börsenschluss in einem Mid-Quarter-Update über die Entwicklung im laufenden vierten Fiskalquartal. Gute Geschäfte in Asien veranlassen das Unternehmen zu einem positiven Ausblick.
Intel erwartet im vierten Quartal einen Umsatz von 6,8-7,0 Mrd. Dollar. Bisher hatte der Konzern lediglich einen Umsatz in Höhe von 6,5-6,9 Mrd. Dollar prognostiziert.

Die Bruttomarge soll wie bereits vorab erwartet bei rund 49 Prozent liegen, so Intel weiter.

Im Vorjahreszeitraum erwirtschaftete der Konzern bei einem Umsatz in Höhe von 7 Mrd. Dollar einen Gewinn von 15 Cents je Aktie. /finance online

Mandalay Resort Q3 earnings in line, revs light (MBG) 28.82 +0.01: Reports Q3 (Oct) earnings of $0.50 per share, in line with the Multex consensus of $0.50; revenues rose 0.8% year/year to $614.3 mln vs the $630.5 mln consensus.



Invitrogen CEO to retire (IVGN) 27.68 -0.33: Company's founder, chairman/CEO, Lyle Turner, will retire effective Jan. 1, 2003; co. will initiate a search for a new CEO; also appoints James Glynn to post of president/chief operating officer, separating the positions of chairman and CEO, and appoints Bradley Lorimier to chairman.

Ingram Micro updates Q4 guidance (IM) 12.39 -0.61: Company updates Q4 guidance; net income before these items is expected to range from $26 million to $29 million or $0.17 to $0.19 per share; sales now are expected to approach "the low end" of the previously disclosed range of $5.75 billion to $5.90 billion -- Multex consensus estimates are $0.18 per share and $5.86 billion respectively.



Net2Phone meldet Gewinn aber Umsatzrückgang
Das Internetunternehmen Net2Phone hat heute die Zahlen für das vergangene Quartal bekannt gegeben. Demnach fiel ein Umsatz in Höhe von 23,9 Mio. Dollar nach 43 Mio. Dollar im Jahr zuvor an.
Der Gewinn lag mit 45,5 Mio. Dollar fast doppelt so hoch wie der Umsatz, was allerdings auf einen einmaligen Gewinn aus einem Rechtsstreit mit Cisco Systems resultiert. Exklusive dieses Einmal-Effektes verzeichnete Net2Phone einen Verlust in Höhe von 3,9 Mio. Dollar.
Analysten hatten mit einem Verlust in Höhe von 23 Cents je Aktie bei Erlösen in Höhe von 25 Mio. Dollar gerechnet.
Nachbörslich verlor die Aktie 1,3 Prozent auf 3,65 Dollar.
