Skepsis nach Intel Zahlen

An manchen Abenden sind die Augen von Millionen von Investoren auf eine einzige Meldung gerichtet, und am Dienstagabend sollte diese von Intel gekommen. Der Chipgigant bescherte dem Publikum einen netten Abend und legte Quartalsergebnisse über den Erwartungen vor. Die Aktie bewegte sich nachbörslich trotzdem kaum.

Der Stillstand der Intel-Aktie, die in den letzten Handelsminuten am Dienstagnachmittag eine von reinem Optimismus und den Stimmen der Analysten getriebene Rallye hinlegte, schlug nach der Quartalskonferenz nur einmal kurz nach oben und unten aus, steil und zackig, und pendelte sich dann nahe des Schlusskurses ein. Das Unternehmen hatte erfüllt, was Spekulanten erhofft hatten, man hatte ein Plus von 1 Mio. Dollar oder 16 Cent pro Aktie gemeldet, mehr als doppelt soviel wie im Vergleichsquartal. Der Markt hatte nur mit 14 Cent gerechnet. Auch ein Umsatzplus auf 7,2 Mrd. Dollar macht Experten Freude.

Doch hat die Intel-Meldung auch Schattenseiten. Für das nun laufende erste Quartal rechnet das Management mit einem Umsatz zwischen 6,5 und 7 Mrd. Dollar also unterhalb der jüngsten Zahlen. Und dass der Branchenriese seine Kapitalinvestitionen dramatisch herunterfährt und in 2003 statt der prognostizierten 5 Mrd. Dollar nur noch zwischen 3,5 und 3.9 Mrd. Dollar für neue Technologien ausgeben will, das belastet zwar die Aktie nicht, wohl aber die Papiere der Zulieferer, darunter Applied Materials und Novellus.

Was Experten aus Zahlen lesen wollen, gibt Intel unterdessen auch in Worten heraus: Man ist „vorsichtig“ für das kommende Quartal, das zum einen traditionell ein schwächeres ist, zum anderen nicht zwingend wie der Beginn eines Aufschwungs aussieht. Den hatten auch die Analysten von Bear Stearns bereits am Morgen in Frage gestellt. Krampfhaft hatten sie versucht, ein wenig Optimismus hinter ihre Outperform-Bewertung zu stellen und gesagt: „Wenn es mit der Konjunktur aufwärts geht, und wenn die Unternehmen ihre IT-Ausgaben erhöhen, dann hat Intel deutliches Wachstumspotential.“ - Diese Aussage ist etwa so clever, als prophezeie man den Kühlschrankherstellern einen Boom, vorausgesetzt jeder Amerikaner bekäme 10 000 Dollar geschenkt und müsse sich davon einen Kühlschrank kaufen.

Dass Anleger die Intel-Aktie aufgrund der augenscheinlich guten Nachrichten nicht in die Höhe treiben, spricht zum einen dafür, dass man am Markt wieder abwägt, zum anderen dafür, dass in dieser Woche Intel nicht der einzige maßgebliche Wert ist. Aus dem direkten Umfeld werden in den nächsten Tagen noch Microsoft und IBM über das abgelaufene Quartal sprechen, auch Yahoo und Apple werden Zahlen vorlegen und Konjunkturprognosen dürfte man nach den Zahlen von JP Morgan und General Electric wagen. Solange heißt es abwarten, die Aktien verharren.

AOL Time Warner hat mit einemVerlust von 98,7 Milliarden Dollar !!! für das Jahr 2002 den höchsten Verlust der US-Firmengeschichte ausgewiesen, dazu gab AOL für das vierte Quartal 2002 einen Verlust von 44,9 Milliarden Dollar bekannt.

Das schlechte Ergebnis war weitgehend die Folge einer Wertberichtigung für den Onlinedienst America Online, der 2001 Time Warner übernahm und seither unter rückläufigen Werbeeinnahmen und geringer Zunahme der Abonnentenzahlen leidet.
Ausserdem kündigte AOL den Rücktritt Ted Turners von seinem Posten als Vice Chairman bei AOL an,was bei den AOL Anlegern für noch mehr Nervosität in der Nachbörse sorgte
